Appointment & Shopping FAQs

Here are answers to some common questions about shopping with Yours Truly, Brooklyn as we start reopening during the COVID-19 pandemic.  For answers to questions not answered here, email [email protected]

 

Q: How can I make a purchase from Yours Truly, Brooklyn?

A: There are more options for shopping with us!

Option 1) Make a phone appointment for remote browsing! We will call you at your scheduled time to talk through your requests, make recommendations, and generally give you the knowledgeable and personal service you've come to expect from your local stationer.  Once we've rung up your sale, you'll be able to make an appointment for quick, contactless curbside pickup.

Option 2) Place an order online via yourstrulybrooklyn.com. You can browse hundreds of items and options and pay for your order right on the website.  You can choose in-store pickup, or flat-rate shipping.

Option 3) Shop in the store by appointment.  You can make a shopping appointment online, or call the store for walk-in availability.

 

Q: How many people can shop in the store at a time?

A: We can accommodate one person at a time, or family groups of up to 4 people.  Please be patient with us, as our shop is very small and we want to make room for social distancing for our staff and customers!  You will be asked about the size of your group when you make an appointment, and we may not be able to accommodate you if you arrive with a larger group.

 

Q: Are there any other requirements for in-store shopping?

A: All customers must wear a face mask to shop at Yours Truly, Brooklyn.  If you do not have a face mask when you arrive, we can provide one for you.  We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone not wearing a face mask.  We ask that all customers maintain social distancing while shopping in the store.

 

Q: I'm here at the door right now!  Why can't I come in?

A: We may already have a shopping appointment scheduled at this time, and we want to honor all existing appointments.  Or you may not be wearing a mask; we can't accommodate shoppers without masks, for the safety of our employees.  Feel free to call us to ask any questions or to inquire about walk-in availability.

 

Q: I’ve ordered online or by phone, and I've scheduled an appointment for pickup. Now what? 

A: We take the protection & safety of our customers and staff seriously. To better serve our community and protect our staff, we ask that you do the following:

- Please show up on time for your curbside pickup appointment. Do not show up at the store without first speaking to us in advance. 

- Practice social distancing and maintain a considerable distance from the store until your appointment time. We will let you know when it’s okay to come forward for your order.

 

Q: Oh no! I cannot make / I missed my curbside pickup or store browsing appointment. What do I do?

A: Don't worry!  If you missed your appointment you can reschedule via the link in your confirmation email. Feel free to email or call us if you require assistance. If you already paid for your order, we'll hold it as long as needed.  

 

Q: I’m not looking to shop right now, but I have a question.

A: Email our general inbox at [email protected] and we’ll reply in the order your request came in. Thank you for your patience.

 

 Q: How is Yours Truly, Brooklyn protecting staff and customers?

A: Our staff who are working onsite are provided with masks to be worn at any time they are interacting with the public. In accordance with New York State guidelines, only one person is present at any store location at a given time.  Staff clean all phones, workstations, door handles, light switches, merchandise transfer stations, etc. daily and in between shifts.  In addition, we will be maintaining strict social distancing during pickup, and staff will not fulfill orders if customers do not follow social distancing guidelines.
